Summer Work Parties

Summer work parties are a great way to volunteer and help us do maintenance on the huts in preparation for winter. You do not need to be a member. Anyone can volunteer!

General Information

Summer work parties are held the second Saturday of the month beginning in June and ending in October, weather permitting. Below you will find some general information about what we do:

  • Work parties start at 10am on the second Saturday of the month. We meet at the Ashford Fire Hall, near the MTTA office.
  • Depending on the number of volunteers, we carpool up to the huts.
  • We work between the hours of 11am and 5pm. The work done depends on the need. This may include trail maintenance/clean up, firewood gathering, hut maintenance, etc.
  • Volunteers may reserve an a bed at Snow Bowl and stay overnight.
  • Volunteers should bring appropriate clothing, lunch, water, clothes to change into and gear to stay the night (if staying). We might also request you bring some tools along if you have them (like pruning sheers).

The dates for this upcoming summer are June 14th, July 12th, August 9th, September 13th, and October 11th. Once we have more details, they will be posted here. If you are interested in helping out, stay tuned. Contact information will be provided soon. In the meantime, if you have questions, you can reach out to reservations@skimtta.org.
